Ornamental Features

Firefly™ Nightglow™ Diervilla features showy clusters of yellow trumpet-shaped flowers at the ends of the branches from late spring to early summer. It has attractive red-variegated deep purple foliage with hints of coppery-bronze which emerges burgundy in spring. The pointy leaves are highly ornamental and turn an outstanding scarlet in the fall.

Landscape Attributes

Firefly™ Nightglow™ Diervilla is a dense multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a mounded form. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition.

This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. It is a good choice for attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to your yard, but is not particularly attractive to deer who tend to leave it alone in favor of tastier treats.
